The Four Seasons Bangkok and its annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Charity Event

The city of Bangkok truly sparkles during the Festive Season. In the downtown Ratchaprasong District tourists line up to see the glittering fairy light show. The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok has led the tradition for many years with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, graced by Thailand’s HRH princess Somsawali. For the 6th year in a row the Four Seasons also organized its Christmas Tree Charity Project. The project invited companies from throughout Thailand to design their own trees — each with a special message. The hotel joined up with two of Thailand’s top interior decoration and architect magazines, Wallpaper and Living etc to support cancer research carried out by the ‘Hematological Cancer Research Center’ at Chulalongkorn Hospital under the auspices of The Thai Red Cross Society. The trees showcased the creativity of a number of Thailand’s leading interior and fashion designers, architects, celebrities and lifestyle artists. Princess Soamsawali decided the winner and the Princess trophy went to Sonite and designer Dr Singh. It certainly is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
