Trang – Discovering local traditions around the versatile Nipa Palm

The southern Thai province of Trang is not only known for its lovely resorts, islands and beaches. It’s also home to rivers that weave through mangrove forests and small fishing villages. If you journey along the rivers of Thailand, you’ll quite often see these palm trees growing along the shorelines. The Nipa Palm is a common component of the Mangrove forests of Asia and it’s also an extremely useful plant.
