Our correspondent Rod McNeil treads the boards and goes behind the scenes to see the latest production by the Bangkok Community Theatre. The classic Noel Coward play Blithe Spirit was directed by Mark Soebels and produced by Bonnie Zellerbach and performed over several nights at Bangkok’s British Club.
Blithe Spirit tells the story of a married writer who attends a seance where the spirit of his deceased first wife Elvira is accidentally recalled – much to the horror of him and his new wife. Elvira decides she is having too much fun to leave them alone.
Noel Coward penned the comedy in just a few days during the second world war.
