In a bid to further boost tourism, Thailand recently introduced the “Thailand DTV Visa” otherwise known as the Destination Thailand Visa.

This visa specifically targets digital nomads, allowing them to enjoy extended stays in the country for work-cations without the hassle of frequent visa renewals.

While full details are still pending, it seems like an ideal option for remote workers seeking a stress-free work vacation in Thailand.

A DTV Visa is expected to offer its holders:

– A 5-year, multiple-entry visa. Holders can enter and leave Thailand an unlimited number of times without needing re-entry permits or new visas.
– Holders of the DTV may stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per visit and can extend the visa once per visit for a further 180 days.
– DTV holders can bring dependents with them on this visa, including children under 20 and spouses.
The visa fee for the Thailand DTV Visa is Baht 10,000 (About US$270) The renewal fee is also Baht 10,000 and must be paid with every extension.

To be eligible for a DTV Visa, you must:

– Be at least 20 years old.
– Pay the Baht 10,000 Visa fee for the primary applicant and each dependent.
– Prove you have at least Baht 500,000 (About US$14,000) in a bank account to ensure you can support yourself.
– Potentially provide proof of employment with a registered company.

This is just one of the options that will allow you to stay in Thailand!

** You can contact your nearest Thai Embassy.
** Most major law firms in Thailand can be searched online and they can suggest what type of Visa suits you best.
