Polo is not a game for the timid but it is OK to wear pink when you play. That is if you are taking part in the annual Queens Cup St Regis Pink Polo. The event takes place at the Thai Polo and Equestrian Club in Pattaya and it’s a day to adorn yourself in all things pink. On the field, an all women cast and in the grounds a bevy of pink frocks, shirts and hats. Celebrities, horse lovers and polo enthusiasts braved the weather and the muddy fields to parade their finery. That good cause is the Queen Sirikit Center for Breast Cancer at Chulalongkorn Hospital and the Thai Red Cross Society. Among the sponsors of the event, the St. Regis Hotel Bangkok which offered a front row view and afternoon tea for its guests. The hotel chain supports Polo events around the world. With players from Thailand and several other countries, the action on the field was fast and fabulous.
The winning team was La Boheme while the St Regis ladies came in second.
