Phuket Old Town was built during the boom of the local tin mining period about century ago. Like other port towns in the Malay Peninsula, the community has been home to mixed nationalities. The locally born descendants of Hokkien Chinese, Malays, and Muslim Indians, have lived side by side, each carrying on their ancestors’ traditions, family business, and life philosophy in their daily life, including amazing cuisine which is, luckily, on offer to visitors.
