In 2025, Time Out magazine named Bangkok the second-best city in the world, after Cape Town, South Africa.

The ranking was based on a survey of 18,500 travelers worldwide.

Why Bangkok ranked second:

• Culture – Bangkok has many cultural landmarks, including temples and the Grand Palace
• Transportation – Bangkok has an efficient public transportation system with the BTS and MRT networks
• Neighborhoods – Popular neighborhoods like Thong Lor and Ekamai are considered among the coolest in the world
