An hour east of Bangkok, the Rab Bua (Rap Bua) Lotus Festival is a famous annual tradition held in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan, 

The ceremony takes place at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, where thousands of people gather along the canal to throw lotus flowers onto a passing boat carrying a sacred Buddha image.

“Rab Bua” literally means “receiving lotus flowers.”
