“Hi, I’m Samantha from Luxury Escapes and I’m here to show you the lovely Novotel Hua Hin Cha-am Beach Resort and Spa. Chilled Cha-am and the more happening Hua Hin have been well-kept secrets in Thailand but it’s not hard to see why more and more people are heading to these stunning shores. Thai travelers discovered this beach side destination when it became the retreat for the country’s royalty a hundred years ago.
In some ways the skyline here reminds me of Surfers Paradise on the Aussie Gold Coast. The Novotel is located right between Cha-am and Hua Hin so that means it has the best of both worlds. Now this would have to be on the most inviting views in Thailand.
The impressive lobby entrance opens out onto a huge terrace and draws you down to an inviting lagoon pool. Even if you are right on the beach, a fantastic pool makes all the difference. You can relax at the pool bar ……or join the kids at the water slide.
The resort also has a cool kid’s world and plenty of things to keep the whole family amused……like free Wi-Fi and this Espresso zone in the lobby where you can grab an ice-cream or a drink. If you love the mornings, then make sure you watch at least one sunrise from your balcony…..
If you are here to relax then the spa should be next on your list.
When it comes to dining, start the day just right at the Horizon Café, with a yummy buffet breakfast. Grab lunch on the beach or head back here as the sun sets for a romantic meal. Just for me, chef whipped up white prawns marinated in lemongrass with French Ratatouille and a Proscuitto pizza.
This is the sort of place that demands you just chill out and relax but if you do want more spice in your holiday life then this destination delivers.
The Novotel offers a complimentary shuttle service into Hua Hin where you can explore some of the town’s best attractions. Golfers will love the vast array of golf greens in this area including the stunning Black Mountain course. If you want to cool down, head to the Black Mountain water park and wave pool…..or try your skill at wake-boarding.
Companies like Mermaid offer both river and sea cruises…….you can visit an elephant camp, take a temple tour, ride a horse on the beach or just enjoy the local shopping.
The charming streets of Hua Hin also overflow with wine bars, fun pubs with ridiculously cheap happy hours and a vibrant selection of restaurants, including great value seafood.
Now that I’ve discovered all this, I wish I could stay even longer.
