Bangkok International Auto Salon 2013

If you love cars and like to dabble with what’s come out of the factory then the Bangkok International Auto Salon is for you. Held recently at Impact Muang Thong Thani the event drew enthusiasts from Thailand and beyond to gaze at a range of vehicles that have been spruced up, modified, repainted and remodeled to become truly unique, powerful and stunning machines.
The 50 customized and rare Japanese sports cars were supported with over 400 booths showcasing a range of accessories and related products. Some of the modifications were kept top secret and only those in the know got to get a close-up look. Models on show included Nissan, Toyota and Mazda.
The Thailand automotive industry is the largest in Southeast Asia and the 9th largest in the World. The Thailand industry has an annual output of nearly 1.5 million vehicles. Thailand is also one of the world’s biggest markets for pickup trucks with over a fifty percent market share for one-ton trucks.
These days the Thai car industry is taking advantage of the ASEAN Free Trade Area – AFTA – to find a market for many of its products.
With such a strong national automotive industry it’s no wonder that custom car design is on the increase and creativity truly blooms when it comes to a great set of wheels and a good imagination.
