The best part? You don’t need to fly.

That means less hassle, less cost, and a much quicker trip from the city.

Once you arrive in Rayong, you’ll head to the pier where you can choose various ferry options depending upon your budget …. and how much time you have. Boats leave from the Ban Phe Pier. The classic slow wooden ferries take around 40 minutes, while a speedboat will whisk you to the island in 15 minutes for around Baht 300 per person. The large catamaran option takes around 15 to 20 minutes, and around Baht 150 per person.

While Thailand has many more exotic island destinations than Ko Samet, it stands out as one of the best quick island getaways from Bangkok. It appeals for its accessibility. This convenience makes it a favourite for weekend travellers, expats and short-stay visitors.
