When it comes to enjoying Thailand’s Beach & Island Escapes there are many to choose from. These are 5 of our favorites 1) Koh Chang It’s also known also as ‘Elephant Island’ because of its elephant shaped headland. This is Thailand’s third largest island after Phuket and Samui. It is located around 300 kilometers east of Bangkok in Trat Province, in the Gulf of Thailand near the Cambodian border. From jungle covered mountain peaks to sweeping bays, great waterfalls, stunning coral reefs, beach huts and luxury resorts, Koh Chang has plenty to offer. Make sure you also visit the islands ghost ship – a mysteriously abandoned ship resort that has become an Instagram favorite. 2) Koh Lipe This lovely island in the Andaman Sea sits near Malaysia's border. It takes a day of travel from Bangkok to get here by flight van and boat but its well worth the effort. It’s part of a National Marine Park, that’s home to gorgeous snorkeling and f=dive sites, lovely sandy beaches, budget and glam hotels and a happening nightlife along the islands famous walking street. 3) Koh Tao Located on the east side of the Surat Thani coastline close to Koh Phangan and Koh Samui this little piece of paradise is known in English as turtle island. Its famous for its underwater treasures and is an unforgettable destination for divers, adventurers and travelers alike. Take a day trip also to the lovely nearby island of Koh Nunguan. 4) The Similans The Similan Islands is one of the best-known island groups in the Andaman Sea, largely because of the wonders that await beneath the clear-blue sea.The islands are around 84 km northwest of Phuket. This little archipelago is one of the most interesting dive sites in the world, as well as a favorite destination for yachties and boat tours. 5) Krabi Krabi town and province has some of the most stunning scenery in Thailand. It’s beautiful white beaches stretch on for kilometers. Its home to jungles, famous temple sites and over 200 islands just of the coast including the famous Phi Phi Islands. Its most famous beach is Railay which is accessible only by boat.
